Tip # 23: Eggs and Fat Loss.

In a study involving 30 overweight or obese women, researchers found that eating eggs for breakfast helped reduce their caloric intake throughout the rest of the day. The study participants ate either 2 eggs or a bagel for breakfast, both containing the same number of calories. The researchers recorded the women’s eating habits and found that the women, who had eaten the eggs, felt less hungry and ate a smaller lunch as a result. The egg group ate 417 calories less daily, than the bagel group. After 8 weeks, the egg group lost 65% more weight, had a 83% greater reduction in waist circumference, and reported greater improvements in energy levels than the bagel group. The study also found no significant differences in HDL-and-LDL cholesterol and triglyceride levels of either group.
